Llama farmers

6 months ago 05th Jul 13:15

Farmers in Alberta Canada are having trouble giving away free llamas.

A spate of adverts for unwanted Llamas appeared in local papers, but their owners are struggling to find takers.

Farmer Neil Olsen has been trying to pawn llamas Snowy, Ranger and Walley for months, because he is moving, but has so far failed to shift any. He told how llamas are handy : "These things aren't pets. They keep predators away."

Another llama burdened family close by are also having trouble. Owner Deana Kennedy, who is also moving and can't take her llamas, said: "You get so attached to them. Bambi [the llama] comes up and gives you kisses. In the winter, I whistle and they come running. I hate having to get rid of them."
